“Whisky on the Water” Presented by the Savannah Food & Wine Festival

The Savannah Food & Wine Festival invites the public to embrace the spirit of whisky on Tuesday, November 6 from 7p.m. to 9p.m. at one of the newest, luxury boutique hotels in the city: The Alida Hotel, opening this month. Presented by Slane Distillery, patrons can plan to overlook the beautiful Savannah river as they dine on gourmet bites prepared a variety of chefs, while sipping from the finest selections of whisky.

Whisky on the Water will feature chefs from several Savannah restaurants, including Husk, Atlantic, and El Coyote – along with showcasing chefs from South Carolina and Nova Scotia, Canada. William Quinn, executive chef at The Alida, will also be in attendance to provide guests with culinary creations from Rhett, the hotel’s very own restaurant that is set to open in early October.

Tickets for the event are priced at $150 per person, but guests who choose to order in advance may purchase theirs at a discounted rate of $145. Each guest’s ticket includes a souvenir glass and access to all food and beverage tastings that will take place during the event. There are a limited number of tickets available, so those wishing to join in on the festivities are encouraged to purchase tickets early.

According to Michael T. Owens, festival co-founder, “100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire. The festival was able to donate $10,000 to The Two Hundred Club last year from this event.” Serving a total of twenty counties, the Two Hundred Club’s principal objective is to provide financial assistance to the families of local law enforcement officers, EMS, and firefighters who have lost their lives in the line-of-duty while protecting their communities.

The Savannah Food & Wine Festival takes place throughout Savannah, November 5 – 11, 2018 with celebrity chefs and winemakers, connoisseur dinners, one-of-a-kind culinary, spirits and wine experiences.
