Excitement for the festival just increased as Lauren Rich, a SCAD alumna and local artist, submitted an incredible rendition of the Savannah skyline, incorporating all things Savannah Food & Wine Festival.
“When I set out to create this piece, I knew rooftop dining along River Street is very popular, so I took the perspective of someone having wine and cheese at a restaurant overlooking the Savannah River,” said Rich.
Each year a new illustration becomes a mark of the festival and brings life to t-shirts, handbags, and other merchandise. As a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration and Communicative Arts, Rich had background and local inspiration to construct this flawless piece. She says she began with a graphite rendering that was scanned into the computer and digitally colored in Photoshop.
“We’re grateful that Lauren Rich submitted such beautiful artwork, and we’re not surprised to see another talented SCAD alum garner this top prize,” said festival co-founder and director, Jan Gourley.
These poster prints, along with other merchandise, will be available at Taste of Savannah on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Posters will be available to pre-order on www.savannahfoodandwinefest.com soon.
Rich continues daily to practice what she loves through freelance work and her personal design company, One Nine Design Company. Impressed? Visit Rich’s portfolio at www.laurenrichillustration.com and support this local artist who has now recreated the face of the 2016 Savannah Food & Wine Festival.
