Secret Savannah Speakeasy Returns for the Savannah Food & Wine Festival
Take a step back in time with the Savannah Food & Wine Festival on Thursday, November 8, 8 – 10 pm at the Secret Savannah Speakeasy. Hosted inside the historic Georgia State Railroad Museum, patrons will experience a time warp like no other and party like it’s the 1920s. Guests will engage in the debauchery of the Prohibition era by drinking their way through hand-crafted cocktails with some of Savannah’s most outstanding restaurants.
Presented by Eat It and Like It, Savannah Morning News, and Do Savannah, participants can plan to chow down on speakeasy eats while tasting purist cocktails crafted with everything from fresh fruit juices to house-infused liquors. With featured restaurants like Prohibition, Circa 1875, and LaScala, guests will experience an explosion of flavors as they dance the night away to the Speakeasy’s live music by Laiken Love & The Fellowship of Love Band.
The $1,000 Bartenders Challenge Grand Prize will be awarded to the winning bartender in the festival’s highly-competitive competition. The winning semi-finalists include:
- Old Grove Gin Cutwater Spirits – Erica Gantt, The Georgian Room, “Rosales”
- Westland Distillery Westland Whiskey – Kevin King, Husk Savannah, “Where the Sun Don’t Shine”
- Aperol Spritz – Jordan Sox, Tandem Coffee & Spirits, “Truffle Shuffle”
- Tequila Herradura – Stokes Holmes, Tandem Coffee & Spirits, “Lucky Strike”
- Paul Rabe, Congress Street Up – Dixie Vodka
- Kyle Law, Gunn’s Tiki Hut – Rhum Barbancourt
- Kevin King, Husk – Four Roses Bourbon
Patrons of the Savannah Secret Speakeasy will also witness the competition’s finalists as they showcase their signature drinks. Guests can even plan to join in on the festivities by casting their votes for the coveted People’s Choice Award.
Attendees are encouraged to come decked out in their best Prohibition-era attire. Those who dress the part will be eligible to win the “Savannah Food & Wine Festival Weekend Package for Two for 2019,” so break out those flapper dresses and three-piece suits for a chance to win.
Tickets for this event are priced at $85 per person, but early birds who order in advance will receive a discounted rate of $80. Discounts are only available through October 31st, so those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible.
