New to the Savannah Food & Wine Festival

If you’ve been to the Savannah Food & Wine Festival before, you’ve never been to it like this. We have a whole line-up of new events that will keep you on your toes and make your experience a memorable one. It’s like you’re going to an entirely different festival, but trust me, it’s still the humble Savannah Food & Wine Festival you’ve come to know and love. Be rest assured that we will still have our classic, signature events like the Celebrity Chef Tour Dinner, the Grand Reserve Tasting, the River Street Stroll, the Taste of Savannah and the Jazz & Bubbles Brunch, but this year, you can expect world records being made, master classes being taught and some dinners and parties that will leave you wanting more. This is one week you can’t miss!

World’s Largest Lowcountry BoilShrimp Boil

What is the quintessential Savannah dish? Well, the Lowcountry Boil of course! This year, we’re setting our sites high by hoping to set a world record for the World’s Largest Lowcountry Boil. It’s the perfect way for all of the medal-winning Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon runners to celebrate. Please join us and help us set a world record with a fantastic party on the river with shrimp, music, Shrimp Eating Contests and more – a great preview to the Savannah Food & Wine Festival! Master Class Series at the Mansion

Uncover the secrets behind the food and wine experts during the series of 2014-11-12 133701Master Classes at The Mansion on Forsyth Park where you will be guided on a culinary journey into the 700 Cooking School or Wine Cellar tasting room to learn techniques through smell, taste and touch. These classes provide very intimate, small class settings (limited to only 25 people) and fill up very quickly. Get to know the personalities behind the celebrity chefs, wine, spirits and beer experts that put this festival on the map including Marita Esteva, Jennifer Booker, Scott Crawford, Larry O’Brien, Robert Jones, Nathalie Dupree, Tory McPhail, Farmer Lee Jones, Kevin Johnson, Cynthia Graubart, Doug Mabry, Jane Garvey, Jean-Yves Vendeville, Damon Lee Fowler and Marc Stroobandt. Georgia Grown Trustees Wine Challenge Dinner

We’re celebrating our rich wine history with the first-ever Georgia Grown dscn0316Trustees Wine Challenge Dinner. The best of class Georgia wines will be awarded, while Georgia Grown chefs will be preparing a five-course ultimate Peach State dining experience. All of the culinary delights will be prepared with foods grown in Georgia and products made in Georgia, served with Georgia Gold Medal Award winning wines. Guests will get to meet the chefs and winemakers behind each course including Holly Chute, Matthew Roher, Dave Snyder, Todd Richards, Kasey Thexton and Brandy Williamson, and expect to have a Georgia winemaker sitting at your table! This is definitely the way to get Georgia on your mind.

Secret Savannah Speakeasy

Grab your best flapper fringe, zoot suit and Fedora for the Secret secret savannah speakeasySavannah Speakeasy! Come ready to meet the taste makers of what Savannah eats and drinks with small-plate tastings and libations aplenty. Taste Savannah’s best hand-crafted cocktails and craft brews and enjoy a wide array of music and entertainment, reminiscent of Savannah’s prohibition heydays. Wear your best prohibition-era attire to win a 2016 Savannah Food & Wine Festival Weekend Package for Two. Artisanal Supper at The Landings

In this beautiful, Lowcountry marsh-side location, you will get the VIP marshnature-7treatment, meeting all the James Beard Foundation award-winning and nominated chefs, master sommeliers, winemakers and regionally- and nationally-recognized talent including Tory McPhail, Steven Satterfield, Asha Gomez, William Dissen, Paul Fehribach, Matthew Raiford, Shaun Doty, Larry O’Brien, Robert Jones, Michael McNeill, Marc Stroobandt and Host Chef for the evening, Matthew Roher. Rising Star Chefs Dinner

Join six of Georgia’s rising star chefs for a memorable pop-up dinner at smith brosSmith Brothers Butcher Shop to celebrate their collective talent and enjoy their inspired versions of our favorite comfort foods. The dinner will feature five course featuring Springer Mountain Farms chicken, Hunter Cattle Co. meats, Wild Georgia Shrimp and more, all paired with cocktails, wine and beer. Don’t miss the chance the meet with the South’s future superstars including Thomas Marlow, Eric Ottensmeyer, Todd Alan Martin, Savannah Haseler, Justin Gottselig and Mike Perez at one of Savannah’s newest culinary destinations.
