The 2015 Savannah Food & Wine Festival needs your help to set a world record for its newest event, the World’s Largest Lowcountry Boil! Take the ferry after the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and enjoy this unforgettable party on the river. This pre-festival event kick-off will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Riverfront Esplanade on Hutchinson Island, beginning at 4:30 pm.
There will be everything you expect from a Lowcountry Boil, but we’re incorporating all things local and southern by using only Georgia Grown products of the highest quality including shrimp from B.D. Judge Seafood, sausages, potatoes, corn, Vidalia Onions and garlic, all seasoned with some super-secret, Georgia Grown ingredients. This way, we’re supporting local markets AND everyone will know that the World’s Largest Lowcountry Boil could have only taken place in the beautiful and historic town of Savannah, Georgia when we inevitably set the world record.
Blue Point Beer, wine, Coca-Cola products and a cash bar will be available to pair with the plates along with an “All You Can Eat Fixin’s Salad Side Bar.” Shrimp eating contests, live music and more will also be featured, all overlooking the historic Savannah skyline with family-style peel and eat tables set up outdoors.
After participating in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, what better way to unwind and celebrate your accomplishment by setting another record and attending the World’s Largest Lowcountry Boil! Just hop on the ferry and cruise across the river for free. Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon runners can save $10 with the code WINE2015. Valid on half, full and relay.
