Fall Into Grilling with the Big Green Egg
Fall is one of our favorite times of the year at Big Green Egg! Sure, summer is prime grilling time between baseball, cookouts and National Barbecue Month, but there’s no reason your EGG can’t be cookin’ all year round! Fall is actually the perfect opportunity to use the EGG to its fullest extent, and this is one of the reasons we’re EGGcited to be the Grilling Guru sponsor at the Savannah Food & Wine Festival. But before the festival kicks off, we’re going to show you how you can be a grilling guru right in your very own backyard!
Did somebody say score!? No, we’re not talking about the football team… we’re talking about the dish you brought to the tailgate before kickoff even happened! Bring your MiniMax out to the lot and grill up anything from breakfast to dessert, and all your tailgating favorites like brats and burgers in between.
Is the away game a little too far to travel? Gotcha covered… try “homegating!” By cooking on the EGG in your backyard, there’s even more versatility to what you can cook. Beer Can Chicken is one of our favorite things for a big game at home. Bonus: you can drink the rest of the beer while you’re grilling!
What would fall be bringing the whole family (and maybe the neighbors) together for a fun night. One of our all-time favorite EGG activities is S’mores in a Cone… and if you have a favorite candy, maybe something with peanut butter or caramel, you can toss that in, too! Something else we tried this year was making a cookie cake on the EGG with our favorite candy. It doesn’t matter what kind of candy or cookie you use, the slight smoky taste mixed with your favorite sweet flavors are sure to be the perfect treat on a cool, fall night!
And if you’ve already started worrying that cooking a turkey for a bunch of holiday guests might be overwhelming, think again! We have a Turkey Cheat Sheet for all your turkey needs. This way, you can spend your time on Thanksgiving with your family and friends, not by your oven. Check out our Thanksgiving page for multiple different ways to flavor your turkey, too!
Lastly, one of the best and most fun ways to experience the EGG in action is at the Savannah Food & Wine Festival. Join us for a week of food, wine and lots of EGGceptional food!
So, whether you’re baking a pie with some freshly picked pumpkins or apples, grilling some brats before a football game, or smoking a turkey for your family and friends on Thanksgiving, keep your EGG warm, even if the weather starts getting chilly!
