Bring Your Best at the Bartenders Challenge

What better way to taste Savannah’s hidden talents than with four semi-final rounds of superb cocktails? It’s time to shake things up with the 2016 Bartenders Challenge!

Bartenders can choose from the semi-final rounds listed below, and enter up to four categories. The winner of each semi-final round will have the chance to win a $1,000 grand prize. Each category winner will receive $200. Do we have your attention yet?

Semi-final Rounds:

Rum & Whiskey Rounds, sponsored by Brugal Rum and The Famous Grouse Whiskey

Participating bartenders will be evaluated by a panel of highly esteemed cocktail professionals on the following:

  • Cocktail recipe (creativity, thoughtfulness, marriage of ingredient flavors)
  • Knowledge of the brand
  • Bartending skills
  • Personality and presentation

Entering is easy, and space is limited to the first seven bartenders to enter each category. Simply submit your one-of-a-kind recipe with a list of ingredients, the process, and a drink name by September 9, 2016 to sara.donahue@savannahfoodandwinefest.com.

 

Want to be ahead of the game? Submit a photo of your cocktail for an extra point on your score in the semi-final round.

 

All category winners will compete at the Secret Savannah Speakeasy on November 10, 2016 for the People’s Choice Award, and the overall winner will be determined by a panel of judges in a closed event at The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa on November 10, 2016 before the Grand Reserve Tasting.
